Best Man - Art
Arthur and I have been friends since elementary school when we would play soccer and he was king of the slide tackle. A fierce defender that you wanted on your team and hated going against lol. I quickly learned that with Art by my side, I could always count on him to have my back. Trustworthy, loyal, and honest, people like Art can be few and far between in life. We’ve been through all the highs and the lows together and I am honoured to have him as my best man.
Groomsman - Chris
I met Chris later on in life when he was a personal trainer at a gym I was going to. We instantly clicked and have been best friends ever since. I still had a lot of growing up to do though and Chris was always there for me, ready to lend an ear or give me great advice. Chris is super passionate about anything he puts his mind to, it’s his superpower lol. The things I have seen Chris achieve in the relatively short time I’ve been around him are incredible, he has a beautiful family, a lovely home and a great career. Chris inspires me everyday to keep pushing for my goals and dreams because of the hard work he puts in to everything he does.
Groomsman - Josh
I met Josh in University as we both went to the same dorm at UNB (Harrison House, we were the huskies and we would howl at night to find each other when we were out and about lol). Josh and I lived together for a couple years and that's when I learned who Josh really was, an amazing friend, a bit of a smart ass, and has a great sense of humour. A common theme with all of my best friends are that they were there for me at crucial parts in my life, and Josh is no exception. At some of my lowest points, Josh has been there to pick me back up and keep me pushing forward in life. He is a very intelligent, engaging, classy individual who is always down for a good glass of scotch and a laugh 🙂
Groomsman - Matt
Matt and I have also been friends since elementary school, we both loved ninja turtles, power rangers, the maple leafs and milk (ok maybe he liked milk a little more than me lol). I used to bike to Matt’s house before I was able to drive, and his family was so loving and would welcome me with open arms. Matt was always very generous and would want to share anything he had with me to be an amazing friend. He is caring, compassionate and a leader. If you needed some direction in life, Matt was the guy to go to as he always had a solid plan and great advice. We can crack each other up with jokes until we can’t breathe, and I will always be grateful to have Matt with me by my side as we move onto the next chapters of our lives.
Maid of honour - Chelsea
I have known Chelsea since we were thirteen. We connected over our love of horses and country music. Chelsea is always up for an adventure. You can always hear her laughing from miles away and is the life of the party. She doesn't let a whole lot bother her. She is very easy going. She always tells me how it is even if I don't want to hear it. I can always count on her to be there and to talk to. She's extremely loyal. Whenever we are together, you are never too sure where you'll end up. Want to go for a hike? Sure! Do we have any of the proper equipment or bear spray? No. Are we still going? You bet! After high school, Chelsea moved two hours west of Winnipeg, but we both traded off on different weekends to hang out. When I moved 12 hours away, we still have managed to make the trek back and forth, maybe not as much as we'd like, but we pick right up where we left off. Chelsea has a what is often a thankless job, a nurse. She definitely likes to unwind from her job, she has a beautiful garden, fire pit and deck area. I was shocked when Chelsea mentioned she got a cat (she never was a cat lover), but she's made an exception for Patty. Patty is basically Chelsea's kid. Patty not unlike her owner, loves car rides and going on adventures. I know Chelsea and I will be best friends for life and I couldn't imagine having to go through life without her friendship.
Bridesman & Officiant - Andrew
Andrew is my older brother by age but when it comes to us going out, he's the one that gets id'd! Andrew and I have always been close. We'd spend hours as kids riding our bikes around the neighbourhood. I know I can always rely on my brother and talk to him about anything. He's filled in as a fatherly figure when my parents moved to Calgary, like the time I got gas but forgot my wallet, he came to the rescue! Andrew is a lover of movies and the theatre experience. When anything interesting would be playing, we'd head on over to the theatre. I remember when Pirates of the Caribbean came out and he suggested we go to a movie, when he told me it was about pirates, I was less thrilled. But he always picks out great movies, I shouldn't have doubted him. The popcorn was always a must, but for anyone who's had Andrew's popcorn recipe, you know it's the best! Andrew is very creative, from his love of baking bread, cooking and plating meals, and creating an amazing movie theatre in his basement complete with an app for playing movies. Andrew teaches at the college in Winnipeg, one class is web development, so you know he built my wedding website for me.
Bridesman - Louis
Louis is my brother's partner, I've known him for 14 years. He used to be the quiet one and I definitely took the little sister role on and made some jabs at him. But he's come out of his shell and now dishes it back ?! Louis is creative in so many ways, he can build anything and everything. I've had ideas and Louis comes up with how to do it, like a maple leaf wood art I currently have hanging in my hallway. Louis does a Halloween display every year, which includes handmade grave stones. He's done a DIY black brick wall in his basement and no one realizes it's out of foam! Louis has a garden to be envious of, front and back of his home.
